Moadon Yeladim, “Kids Club”, is Kavana’s after-school program for kids ages 6 to 11 years old. Blending elements of study and play, staff work to build a ‘summer camp’-like atmosphere. Programming is designed to foster a deeper sense of belonging and to build Jewish identity. Working to provide significant exposure to Hebrew and Judaics, each session includes playing together, eating together, and learning together through games, stories, arts and discussion. *Snack provided by Kavana.

Liv Feldman

Olivia is a second-year student at the University of Washington majoring in Jewish Studies. She has previously worked at Temple Israel writing curriculum for their Hebrew school and improving their B’nai Mitzvah program. This will be her second year with Kavana, and she is excited to continue being an educator in the community.

Anaelle Oiknine

Anaelle is super excited to be back for her fourth year as an educator at Kavana. As an educator, she especially loves the moments of deep intrigue every child has, and just how much she actually learns from her students every year. When she’s not at Kavana, she is completing her fourth year as a double degree in Molecular Biology and Human Evolutionary Biology at the University of Washington. Her minor in Jewish studies just furthers her excitement to be a Jewish educator! With her three sisters, she grew up in Oakland, California where she first developed her love to teach as a tennis instructor and tutor. In her off time, she loves to explore farmers' markets, and hike or she delves into her passions around Jewish history, reading, research, cooking, and fermentation.

Daniel Zelinger

Daniel is excited to join the team as an educator at Kavana. He loves Judaism and want to bring to the table his Hebrew. He grew up in Israel, in Tel Aviv and moved to Washington to start college. He graduated from University of Washington with a Finance degree and worked in management consulting. He is excited to bring himself to Kavana and work with the curious students to further their knowledge, interest and appreciation to Judaism. In Israel, he got to work with Holocaust survivors and children. He would video document their stories as they would tell them to classes of students. Photography is his passion and exploring this beautiful state is something that he loves doing. In his off time, he loves creating video logs and documenting his photography trips to different cities, waterfalls, mountains, volcanoes, or even portraiture photoshoots.

Morgan Weidner

Morgan is excited for her first year as part of the youth and teen programs at Kavana. A Seattle native, Morgan was involved in the Reform youth movement (NFTY) growing up and spent a semester in Israel in high school learning all about Jewish history. Outside of Kavana, she works at Cancer Pathways as a program manager and educator. Morgan can often be found listening to an audiobook, making a cup of tea, or playing with her very snuggly cat.

Lon-Marie Walton

It was my great pleasure to work with the Moadon Yeladim program last year and I’m looking forward to another round with this enthusiastic group of teachers and students. I am a Kavana grandparent with many years experience with children and families, an M.Ed, and a love of learning.  In my spare time I enjoy kayaking on Lake Union, drawing and printmaking.

Yoela Zimberoff

Yoela is joining the Kavana team as a Teacher and Program & Communications Coordinator. They have a background in environmental education from sailing on Tall Ships in the Puget Sound and on the East Coast. Yoela is currently working on their Master's Degree in Communication Leadership and can often be found with a good book, a new craft, or playing DnD.
