Kabbalat Shabbat with Traci Marx

Join us for our monthly Musical and Contemplative Kabbalat Shabbat—a welcoming space where uplifting song and heartfelt prayer guide us into sacred presence.  Amidst life's changes, come find togetherness, joy, music, and the wisdom of ancient Jewish prayers and traditions.

In this 75-minute service, led by Kohenet Traci Marx (she/they) and our amazing band of musicians (drums, clarinet, bass, guitar!), we sing and pray our way through key elements of Kabbalat Shabbat and Ma’ariv (the evening service), using traditional and new ways of engaging with the prayers.  Music and poetry/guided meditation from diverse voices along with our own reflections support the deepening of our prayers and the elevating of our spirits.

This service aims to be feminist, inclusive, accessible, and counter-oppressive. Song sheets will be available.

Centered in love and guided by a vision for a just and liberated world, all are invited to join in the sacred act of opening our hearts to Shabbat.
