Moadon Yeladim (Kids Club!) - Mercer Island JCC

Imagine your kids doing arts & crafts projects, playing games, reading books, socializing with other kids, and learning about Jewish history and culture.  Sounds pretty good, right?

NOW, IMAGINE THEM DOING ALL THOSE THINGS IN HEBREW!

This new model for afterschool Jewish learning aims to give kids in grades K-5 a deeper sense of Jewish community and identity.  The high-energy program focuses on Hebrew language immersion and Judaics, through an arts-based curriculum.

We are lucky to have a wonderful teacher, Liat Shklarski, an Israeli who loves kids and loves to share her knowledge of Hebrew.  (She's also a certified social worker in Israel, and is doing a Masters in Social Work at UW.)  The visionary behind this program is Aviva Richman, who has years of experience in arts-based Jewish education, and is as gifted with children as she is with a glue gun.
